What’s supported — and what happens after

Any public show works. Paywalled, private, and subscriber-only feeds are not supported — if an episode is exclusive or premium-only with no public feed, we can’t reach its audio. Spotify’s own transcripts vs. one you can keep

Spotify shows an auto-generated transcript for some shows while the episode plays. It’s handy for reading along, but coverage is partial, there’s no export or download, and selecting a whole episode of text isn’t practical. A Spotify transcript generator works from the episode’s audio instead, so you get the full episode as text — whether or not Spotify made its own — and you can copy it, download it, search it, and reuse it anywhere.

How do I get a Spotify episode URL?

Open the episode in Spotify, tap the Share button, and choose Copy episode link. The link looks like open.spotify.com/episode/… — paste it into the box at the top of this page.

How long does transcription take?

Typically 1–3 minutes for a full episode. We transcribe the actual audio with AI, so longer episodes take a little longer than short ones.

Is there an episode length limit?

Yes — episodes up to 4 hours are supported, which covers the vast majority of podcasts.

Can I download the Spotify podcast transcript?

Yes. Once the episode is transcribed you can copy it to the clipboard or download the full transcript as a TXT or PDF file — timestamped and ready for show notes.

Do I need an account?

Podcast transcription is a Plus or Pro feature. Sign in with Google and subscribe to Plus or Pro, and transcription costs 10 credits per hour of audio — a 20-minute episode is 10 credits, a 3-hour episode is 30. Episodes just over an hour get a few minutes’ grace, so a 65-minute episode is still 10 credits. The 9 social video platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Rumble, X, Twitch, Kick) are available on every plan, including Free.

Do paywalled or subscriber-only shows work?

No. We transcribe audio from public podcast feeds only. Exclusive, premium-only, or subscriber-only episodes without a public feed can’t be transcribed.

How accurate is the transcript?

We use AI speech-to-text on the episode audio. Clear conversational audio — interviews, solo shows — transcribes very well; heavy music beds, crosstalk, or poor microphones can reduce accuracy on those portions.

Can I translate the transcript or make show notes?

Yes — translate into 40 languages, generate an AI summary and show notes, chat with the episode, or repurpose it into 8 content formats like threads, newsletters, and blog drafts.

Does it transcribe the whole show or one episode?

One episode per link. Each Spotify episode URL maps to a single episode — to transcribe several episodes, paste each episode’s link separately.

Does Spotify have transcripts?

For some shows. Spotify auto-generates read-along transcripts for part of its catalog and shows them in the app while you listen, but there’s no way to export or download them. Pasting the episode link here gives you the full transcript as a file, for any public episode.

Is there a free way to get a Spotify transcript?

Spotify’s in-app transcript is free to read where it exists. Downloadable full-episode transcripts here are part of the Plus and Pro plans. If the show also publishes full episodes on YouTube, you can paste the YouTube link instead — YouTube transcripts are available on every plan, including Free.

Can I search a Spotify episode for a quote?
